Bait and Switch!!
I think the American people are being played for fools... again!
All this damn hullabaloo about 'private accounts' for Social Security is, in my opinion, just the old bait and switch.
They know... they know that they cannot touch Social Security! There will be too much of an outcry.
So while everyone is busy calling, writing and trying to alert and educate the public, we have been distracted from something just as mean-spirited.
I think THIS is what they're all about.

If I could have invested the money I dumped into Social Security over the last 25 years, I think I'd be much better off.
I understand your point of view, arsi.
My family and friends feel the same way. My mother will never see a penny of the Social Security that she has paid in... she'll be drawing on my father's.
Yes, I'm the isolated and tiny quiet voice here (I don't discuss politics with friends - not a good idea, I've discovered), and I'm most definitely the only 'liberal' in my family... including both my sons. How'd that happen? ;-)
